About the role:

We are looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer to help us with several infrastructure improvement projects, such as consolidating RDS databases into VPC and proper subnets, setting up IaC processes to support development and production environments, improving audit logging and authorization across the infrastructure, and preparing the infrastructure to ease the running of integration tests in offline mode. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in performing such tasks in AWS infrastructure.

We are looking for candidates based in Ukraine or Poland with the ability to effectively communicate in the EST timezone at least two hours a day.

Who are we looking for?

Skills & Experience:

Minimum 5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, with experience in the modern AWS environment;
Experience managing and upgrading large databases in production;
Experience with deploying and managing IaC tools (such as Terraform, Pulumi, CDK), including describing infrastructure in the code from scratch;
Solid understanding of networking, security, and infrastructure architecture;
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team;
Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams;
Advanced level of spoken and written English.

NICE TO HAVE:

Experience working with applications running on serverless stacks;
Experience with infrastructure cost analysis and improvement.

Responsibilities:

Design and implement infrastructure as code using modern IaC tools and apply it to multiple environments such as development, test, and production;
Reorganize Aurora database location in VPC;
Set up or improve IAM roles for different levels of engineers and apps in multiple environments;
Set up audit trails and notifications, as suggested by HIPAA and similar compliance standards;
Prepare infrastructure to ease the running of integration tests in offline mode;
Collaborate with software developers and other stakeholders to understand requirements and provide guidance on infrastructure-related issues.
