About the role:

We are looking for a PHP Software Engineer on a short-term contract to help us resolve issues related to Laravel framework upgrades. If you have extensive experience with [multi-tier] applications and RESTful APIs and can design sophisticated solutions and deploy your own code to production, we should talk.

With patients at the core, the project strives to promote global alliance and the secure collection and sharing of real-world evidence to accelerate scientific research and the delivery of new therapeutic products to market.

Who are we looking for?

Skills & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or equivalent work experience;
5+ years of web API development:
- 4+ years developing APIs in scripting languages (PHP, Python, Ruby, or JavaScript);
- 1+ years in modern PHP (7+).
Extensive experience with and knowledge of [multi-tier] applications and RESTful APIs;
Knowledge about real-time web UI technology (ex. WebSockets, HTTP/2, pub/sub, messaging brokers);
Experience with REST API documentation strategies (Swagger, PHPDoc);
Good English speaking and writing skills.

NICE TO HAVE:

Familiarity with Slim and REST API frameworks for PHP;
Experience in data architecture: SQL databases, caching, and sharding.

Responsibilities:

Design sophisticated solutions and deploy your own code to production;
Prepare the technical design and architecture for the applications;
Set teamwide best practices for PHP code quality and API architecture;
Set standards for internal API documentation and development workflows;
Communicate with the team and customer.
